The position of lnstructor of Clinical Surgery requires an M.D. degree. This individual must also have

completed a transplant Fellowship. He or she must possess a Florida Medical License and DEA

certificate. This individual will be directly responsible to the Chief of Heart and Lung; UMTC, Dewitt

Daughtry Family Department of Surgery.

This individual will be responsible for the clinical care in all aspects of adult heart and lung transplant

surgery including procurement, device implantation, pre-transplant evaluation and post transplant care.

He or she will be involved in resident supervision at the University of Miami/ackson Memorial Medical

Center. ln addition, this position may require teaching of students in both junior and senior elective

programs as sponsored by this Division within the student's surgical experience. Attendance and

supervision at the outpatient clinic may be required.

This individual will also be responsible for pursuing research protocols to find experiments under his

supervision.

The successful candidate will be committed to the mission of the Miller School of Medicine and the

Dewitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery. He or she will demonstrate a caring attitude and be

abletofulfill service responsibilities in the most cost effective, customer friendly matter. This individual

must possess personal and professional integrity and the highest ethical standards that can be a model for faculty, staff and students.
