The Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Assistant Professor. The incumbent will be appointed at the rank of non-tenure earning Assistant Professor on the clinical educator track in the Cerebrovascular Division, Department of Neurology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. The clinical care of patients will be at the Uhealth clinics, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. In addition will participate in the research projects as well as educational and mentorship activities of the Cerebrovascular Division and the Department of Neurology.

Job Function

  • Provide 1-2 outpatient sessions, and 18-20 weeks of inpatient service at Jackson South Medical Center, Jackson West Medical Center, and Jackson Memorial Hospital and UHealth Tower if needed

  • Care for patients in the UHealth and Jackson Health System outpatient settings

  • Care for patients in the Jackson Health System inpatient settings

  • Train/mentor physicians and staff

  • Preparation and presentation at teaching conferences

  • Develop a research program in Cerebrovascular Diseases

  • Obtain data and results that can be used to submit an application for future clinical research awards

Desired Qualification:

  • MD/DO degree from a recognized accredited University (or foreign equivalent)

  • Cerebrovascular Fellowship required

  • Board certification/eligible in Neurology

  • Eligible for Florida Medical License

  • Strong clinical and research background in Cerebrovascular Diseases
