Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The physician in the clinical track is responsible for providing direct inpatient and outpatient care to GI patients at UHealth Locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital [ 7 half days] . He/she will also provide oversight for the motility program in Lennar, and spend an additional half day reading motility studies performed by hospital ancillary staff. He/she will provide outpatient clinical and endoscopic services , as well as rounding/teaching on inpatients at UHealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital . Preferred physician who has experience with motility program and reading of esoph a geal motility studies, hydrogen breath to patients who require these services . Physician will do weekly, holiday, and weekend call proportionate to other GI providers .

Outline of additional responsibilities include but are not Limited to:

  • Maintain outpatient clinical practice at Uhealth locations, UHealth Towers , and Satellite locations .

  • Read and result motility studies to outpatients

  • Rotate on night and weekend call proportionate to other faculty .

  • Rotate proportionate to other faculty on Gastroenterology inpatient and JMH teaching services .

    ​ Qualifications:

  • MD Degree and ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency .

  • Completed 3-year ACGME US gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship .

  • Provide case logs for core and non-core endoscopic procedures (2 years) , including motility studies .

  • Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology (or board eligible) .

  • Valid unrestricted Florida Medic al License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing) .

  • Valid DEA licensure .

    Kn owledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Completion of US ACGME 3-year gastroenterology fellowship .

  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional a nd state licensing requirements .

  • Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care .

  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required .

  • Previous experience reading motility studies and overseeing studies performed .
