Job Description

The TA Lead Immunology is responsible for the leadership, development, and supervision of the managers who report to him, ensuring the planning and implementation of the affiliate's medical plan aligned with the product strategy, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of ethics (compliance) and company policies.

  • Management of the medical unit to ensure that the medical function is represented in a solid way in brand teams (Brand Teams and In Field Teams);

  • Manage the team of Medical Managers;

  • Analyze with Medical Managers the global medical plan of the product of their therapeutic area, identify local needs from a medical-scientific and business perspective, and develop a local medical plan that is aligned with the global and affiliate strategies;

  • Lead the medical strategy in each brand team (Brand Team and IFT), integrating it with their respective plans;

  • Manage medical activities within brand teams (Brand Teams and IFT), in accordance with local regulations and resources;

  • Act actively, whenever necessary, with brand teams (Brand Teams and IFT) and identify opportunities to work cooperatively with representatives from different areas;

  • Explore, together with other members of the medical field and other affiliates, opportunities for collaborative studies;

  • Manage the preparation and accuracy of the budget for your area of activity in terms of the scaling of technical, operational, material and human resources and your adjustment needs according to demands justifying any variations to the financial area for corporate reporting purposes;

  • Provide support to the clinical research area, participating in supervising the initiation, conduct, and analysis of the results of clinical-scientific programs and medical education activities, directing them according to brand strategies;

  • Ensure the proper qualification and technical development of your team through corporate and regulatory training required for the correct performance of their functions and compliance with legal requirements/audits;

  • Supervise the activities of medical managers, such as: promotional materials, scientific events, dossiers and protocols, ensuring that they comply with corporate requirements, current legislation and product strategy defined by the brand team (Brand Team and IFT);

  • Responsible for implementing performance evaluation programs for their teams, as well as assisting in the career development plan, promoting opportunities based on the expertise and personal interests of each leader;

  • Assess the need for adjustments or restructuring in the organization chart to ensure that the technical-scientific demands of your therapeutic area are met;

  • Identify and maintain contact with research centers and opinion leaders who can act together with the company based on the guidelines defined by the area of strategic relationships with health professionals and brand teams (Brand Teams and IFT);

  • Represent medical management in general board and affiliate processes and projects;

  • Advise the board of directors of the area in the development of the general processes and projects of the board of directors and the affiliate;

  • Provide support for EHS (safety, health, and environment) policies and practices, participating in and supporting actions in the area;

  • Be responsible for managing the team, involving planning the area and its strategic functions, actions to attract and develop personnel, and administer personnel procedures;

  • Conduct actions and decisions under the responsibility of the position, in compliance with the company's Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Relevant clinical experience.

  • Experience in Clinical Research and/or Clinical Studies.

  • Complete higher education in Medicine.

  • Medical Residency.

  • Fluent English.

  • Sensu Lato or Sensu Stricto Postgraduate Program.

  • Leadership: strong personal interrelationship, ability to understand personal needs and motivations.

  • Ability to influence people/negotiation skills.

  • High ethical standard and alignment with AbbVie values.

  • Strategic and operational vision.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organization and planning.

  • Notions of regulatory matters and business-related legislation.

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, Power Point.
