The AbbVie International Commercial Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients’ lives. In the role of the Associate Director of Data Product Management, you’ll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Defining and executing a comprehensive data product strategy for ‘Winning with Data’ that supports our commercial data products, ensuring the availability of data through an accurate, reliable, and well-governed data ontology.

  • Transforming the strategy into a data product roadmap that strikes a balance between the requirements of various stakeholder teams and prioritizes initiatives that have the greatest impact on our data customers and the business.

  • Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of data products, managing the product development lifecycle from ideation to implementation.

  • Leading the definition, design, and operationalization of technology solutions focused on enhancing data quality, metadata governance, taxonomy management, ontology definition, and data policy enforcement.

  • Leading a team of Data Product Managers who drive International Commercial’s agenda and own various data products across your portfolio.

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of upstream and downstream systems and processes and utilizing this insight to influence data model design and its effects on adjacent systems.

  • Engaging in discussions on various ideas, effectively communicating your vision and strategy across the organization.

  • Working closely with stakeholders like Capability Product Owners, Affiliates, Customer Excellence, and engineering teams to understand their data needs, challenges, and opportunities, to conceive scalable and efficient data solutions.

  • Establishing criteria for measuring the success and efficiency of data products and oversee the implementation and ongoing assessment of these metrics.

  • Mentoring and contributing to the data talent community at AbbVie, empowering local and cross-functional teams to do their best work.

  • Providing thought leadership and contributing to the development of data and analytics strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 8 years’ experience; PhD with 4 years’ experience.

  • Deep understanding of data management principles and methodologies, with expertise in data governance, analytics, and product management practices.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within data product management, with demonstrated success in driving the strategic development and management of data products.

  • Prior experience working within a global team/organization and managing global stakeholder expectations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving initiatives from conception to execution.
