Responsibilities

Dallas Regional Medical Center is looking for afull time, day shiftCertified Operating Room/Surgical Tech who is empathetic and has good communication skills. We have a collaborative culture focused on positive outcomes, opportunities for professional growth and so much more. Our Certified Scrub Tech duties include, but are not limited to:

• responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure

• maintaining sterile field during case

• providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures

• able to work well under stressful and emergency situations

• able to act quickly and accurately

• proficient in the following surgical specialties:General Surgery, Urology, Eyes (cataracts), GYN, and Hand specialty

• demonstrates skill in:basic spine procedures (Laminectomies) and complicated spinal fusion (including 360 fusions); Sports Medicine; complicated Ortho: Total Joints, Joint Revisions, ACL replacement, Rotator Cuff repairs, Revision Knee, Hip, Shoulder surgeries, and Total Ankle and Femur Replacements

• demonstrate independent practice in the role of primary scrub technician and hold a current CST to be considered for Certified Scrub Tech III

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists with a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification upon hire required and maintained for employmenta. Non-certified Techs in surgical technology position in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, will have one year from date of hire to obtain a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification.b. Non-certified Techs who have received documented training as a surgical technologist in the U.S. Armed Forces, will have one year from date of hire to obtain a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification.2. Experience and Mastery, in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (General, Urology, Eye (cataracts), Gynecology, and Hand Specialty, in addition to, demonstrates proficiency and skill in basic spine procedures (Laminectomies), Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Total Joints, Complicated spinal fusion surgery (including 360), and Complicated Orthopedics: Sports Medicine and Total Joints, and Joint Revisions.3. Experience in scrubbing in the specialty surgical areas.4. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
