Join our Global Real Estate and Facilities Engineering and Technology (E&T) team in Mesa, Arizona, and become an Experienced Facilities Mechanical Heating Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineer to support the Southwest Region.

You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and regulations. Your expertise in design/construction principles, practices, and materials will guarantee the safety and stability of our infrastructure systems.

You will also have the exciting opportunity to contribute to asset management by conducting studies, analyzing current conditions, and collaborating with stakeholders. You will provide valuable recommendations for capital improvements. Your insights and expertise will shape the future of our facilities and infrastructure.

As an Experienced Facilities Mechanical HVAC Engineer, you will develop technical design statements of work, review final designs, and provide rough cost estimates for various projects. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to safety will ensure that our buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds, meet the highest standards.

Our Ideal Candidate Shall Have:

  • Design experience in building mechanical HVAC engineering field

  • Possess extensive knowledge of mechanical upgrade for HVAC systems

  • Technical expertise to advice on current system capacities and capabilities, as well as the impact of planned modifications and the development of backup operational plans for system outages or failures

  • Knowledge and experience in recommending system upgrades and replacements, considering factors such as life cycle cost, design, savings, and efficiencies

  • Hands on design, operation, and maintenance experience of on-site HVAC systems such as chillers, cooling towers, boilers, air handling units, compressors, and associated ductwork, piping, controls, etc

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop moderately complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates, and provides maintenance support for the architectural phases of buildings and equipment

  • Coordinate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies in developing technical designs, final designs, and cost estimates ensuring safety and stability

  • Develop moderately complex conceptual analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)

  • Ensure accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlines

  • Identify errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements

  • Support construction projects by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interfaces with government/regulatory agencies

  • Prepare and present project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives

  • Prepare contingency plans for interruptions or equipment failure

  • Develop and implement conservation projects and coordinate across

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or greater in mechanical engineering

  • 5+ years of experience supporting industrial facility building systems to include the following: HVAC, Ventilation, Vacuum Systems, Compressed Air, Chilled Water, and/or Water/Sewer Systems

  • 5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications

  • Experience using AutoCAD or a similar software

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in design of mechanical HVAC systems (Double duct system, VAV system with or without reheat, clean room design and ISO Standards, primary/secondary systems, primary variable system, compressed air system, gaseous nitrogen, and liquid nitrogen systems)

  • Experience using Revit or similiar software

  • Experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts

  • Experience assisting with reliability processes in engineering

  • Experience in reliability and maintenance methodologies and tools

  • Determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $115,600 – $156,400
