Job Purpose

This role within our organization has been designed and created in order to better serve our top tier customer’s growing needs and goals and has a specific focus in responsiveness and quality improvement for the customer’s product line.

The Customer Quality Engineer will act as the liaison between our customer and the organization, you are the representative and point of contact that takes care of the customer’s needs. Responsible for continuous product and process quality improvements. Conducts investigations into NCs and CAPAs stemming from customer requirements. Leads root cause analysis to identify risks. Resolves customer issues appropriately and in a timely manner. Knows and applies fundamental engineering concepts into the investigations and through the direct customer portal communicates and documents all required information.

Has a direct line to the customer and the customer to you to address any questions. Has interpersonal skills that magnify the ability of the organization to communicate and improve the long-term relationship. You are the voice of the customer and your voice will translate the customer needs into clear action plans.

Principal Accountabilities

• Identify opportunities for quality improvements.

• Lead NC and CAPA processes for our customer.

• Ability to communicate with the customer in order to gather information necessary to troubleshoot and conduct investigation updates.

• Outstanding customer support.

• Ability to work with a multifunctional team; Manufacturing Engineering, Applications Engineering, R&D, Operations and Quality.

• Develop statistical rationale to address issues when required.

• Manage customer notifications.

• Timely processes customer requests.

• Ability to serve as the voice of the customer back into the business and work across the Commercial and Operations team to prioritize the customer needs.

• Ability to translate customer needs into action plans.

• 10% Travel required

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Qualifications

• Minimum BS in materials science, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Machining field.

• Excellent understanding of GD&T in theory and practice.

• Blueprint/Drawing interpretation.

• Experience in customer communication.

• Strong communication skills and initiation.

• Excellent project leadership and well organized.

• Hands on and fast learner.

Skills

• Minitab

• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.

• PowerPoint

• Working knowledge of failure investigation techniques and related tools: 8D, 6 Sigma, Root Cause Analysis.

• Ability to conduct and document a technical investigation with prior experience investigating, troubleshooting and root causing.

• Own and resolve complaints and requests from assigned customer.

• Multi-tasking

• Layout inspection and calibration methods and systems.

• Quality statistics and sampling plans

  • The salary range for this position is $96,000- $121,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
