Robert Half Desktop Support Engineer in Mentor, Ohio

Description We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Mentor, Ohio. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity, where you will be responsible for handling escalated issues, managing software licenses, and deploying applications in the corporate environment. You will also be assisting with automation tasks and contributing to IT project management.

Responsibilities:

• Handle escalated technical issues to ensure smooth operations.

• Manage software licenses, including the renewal of licenses, to ensure compliance and uninterrupted service.

• Utilize PowerShell, SCCM, and Intune to perform tasks and resolve issues.

• Assist in packaging within Intune to optimize software deployment.

• Deploy or remove applications in the corporate environment to meet business needs.

• Contribute to automation tasks to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

• Provide break fix solutions to resolve hardware or software malfunctions.

• Assist with new hire provisioning processes to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

• Contribute to IT project management, including leading certain projects when required.

• Work in a corporate environment, providing support to a large number of users. Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, IT Support Technician or similar role for a minimum of 3 years

• Experience with remote desktop support and break fix

• Understanding of desktop hardware and related technologies

• Familiarity with IT project management and its methodologies

• Ability to manage license agreements and related software documentation

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work well under pressure

• Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Relevant certifications in IT or related field would be advantageous

• Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and continue to develop professionally.
