Job Description

The Credit & Collections Specialist maintains accounts receivable and handles account issues to protect Avery Dennison's interests and reduce the risk of bad debt write-offs. This position is 8am-5pm with a hybrid schedule, working in the office Tuesday-Thursday and remotely on Monday and Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing an account portfolio and assisting in account reconciliation for the collection of all monies due from customers.

  • Prioritize portfolio so that collection efforts result in maximum benefits watching for key indicators that a customer account is in jeopardy of becoming delinquent.

  • Resolve customer account issues including past due invoices to ensure timely payments.

  • Recommends negotiating payment settlements to Sales and/or the customer.

  • Provides assistance with non-payment issues to resolve the root cause.

  • Works collaboratively with Cash Applications, and Customer Service to resolve non-payment issues as well as customer-related disputes.

  • Initiates reviews and recommendations with Sales and AR management as to whether final demand notices & outside collections should be initiated. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with 3+ years of transferrable experience.

  • Proficient in conveying thoughts and messages through clear communication, both written and verbal.

  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.

  • A positive approach and willingness to learn while working in a team environment.

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills required, with the ability to investigate and exercise judgment when making decisions, and to seek assistance when needed

  • Exhibits customer-focused behavior such as building positive relationships and strives to understand customer's needs both internally and externally.
