Infrastructure Platform - Sr Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Job Summary

As a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will design, implement, maintain and optimize automation solutions to streamline operations across our hybrid infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable and supportable systems while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

General

• Lead the development of automation strategies that align with our organization's long-term technology goals

• Collaborate with infrastructure platform operations, security, and development teams to identify pain points and implement automated solutions.

• Leverage your expertise in programming, networking and servers to create robust, scalable automation tools

• Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure automation

• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to team members on automation techniques and tools

• Contribute to the organization's digital transformation initiatives by enabling more agile and responsive platform operations

• Develop automation scripts/tools to manage network devices, servers (Linux/Windows), and storage systems.

• Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible.

• Build CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and configuration.

• Design, implement, and maintain automated systems for regular Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) testing.

• Automate network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring (Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto).

• Automate server lifecycle management (provisioning, patching, scaling).

• Implement storage automation for allocation, snapshots, and replication.

• Partner with Security, and Cloud teams to integrate automation workflows.

• Analyze performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Experience: 5–7 years in infrastructure automation, with expertise in networking, servers, and storage.

• Possess excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible.

• Networking: VLANs, BGP, VPNs, SD-WAN.

• Storage: SAN/NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel.

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.

Preferred

• Certifications: Terraform Associate, or equivalent. Ansible Engineer

• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker and multi-cloud architectures.
