Dept Engineering Overview:

Create test solutions for Tomorrow’s Tools. At Milwaukee Tool, Disruptive Innovation is not exclusive to the products introduced to the market; Disruptive Innovation is extended to all facets of the company including engineering support roles. As a team of Automation Engineers, we develop innovative automated test systems to support new product testing across North America. We work cross-functionally with new product development engineers and the test lab to define test system requirements. The team makes empowered decisions to rapidly transition test system design from concept to reality. Additionally, we support troubleshooting and design revisions to continuously improve existing systems.

We are looking for Project Engineers passionate about automation, team collaboration, and product testing. A typical Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for managing a queue of moderate to highly complex projects with minimal direction. Individuals in this position will create and manage project schedules while providing clear communication to all stakeholders and holding the team accountable for timeline decisions.

You will be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Create and manage project schedules and Gantts across the entire queue.

  • Plan upcoming projects and review resource loading.

  • Maintain agility in team commitments.

  • Analyze project risks and provide assessment to senior leadership – included but not limited to: Cost, Schedule, Procurement, Design, and Safety.

  • Provide clear, concise communication to stakeholders and upper management regarding the project’s status, risk, and technical details.

  • Lead schedulers and junior Project Engineers in singular vision for project planning.

  • Accountable for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.

  • Responsible for maintaining project metrics surrounding intake, delivery, complexity, and resource loading.

  • Consistently visualizes entire scope of a project with very little guidance.

  • Tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines.

  • Coordinate with NA test labs on global initiatives.

  • Support scope discussions surrounding test system requirements in collaboration with New Product Development, Test Lab, and Reliability Engineers

  • Work with vendors for procurement of BOM material, costing, and schedule.

  • Identify areas of continuous improvement across global labs and automation tech.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree.

  • Minimum 5 years in related field.

  • Proven track record of managing low-moderate complexity projects and/or subsystems of larger projects.

  • Must have a working design knowledge of a wide variety of the technologies associated with Milwaukee products.

  • Understanding of data structures, processes, and metrics in lab operations.

  • Understanding of work breakdown structures, Gantts, and RASICs

  • Must be able to personally conduct detailed analyses, recognize the need and seek the appropriate expertise to achieve the desired results.

  • Proficient in the use of project planning software.

  • International travel

  • Bonus: Experience in Smartsheets Software

  • Bonus: Experience in People Management
