As the Product Configuration Engineer, you will identify appropriate product structure and tools to deploy those structures within our business systems. We are looking for someone with expertise in highly configurable product platform structures. You will ensure agreement across our product options and multiple configuration applications used both internally and by our customers. Under the direction of the Engineering Systems and Standards Supervisor, the Product Configuration Engineer will also support the maintenance and development of other product configuration software tools for standard and configurable products.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Management to create optimized alignment between product options, product bill of material (BOM) structures, method of manufacturing (routings), and product presentation within our business systems.

  • Identify standardization opportunities in product structures, product options and configurators.

  • Develop and maintain product configurators for the corporate E-Commerce and ERP systems.

  • Document the configurator code design or best practices in a revision controlled environment.

  • Foster, architect, and maintain the Engineering department CAD automation tools and workflows to increase standardization and efficiency.

  • Administer and maintain alignment between product data and structures across our CAD, PDM, ERP, configurators, and CPQ/layout tools.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or highly relevant prior work experience.

  • Previous experience with writing, testing, de-bugging, and releasing product configurators using the Epicor ERP Product Configurator and/or Engineer to Order software applications (Siemens, Autodesk, etc), or other highly relevant prior work experience.

  • Experience with Mass Customization/Platform Design operating strategies as how it applies to product structure.
