Assists in educational and technical training sessions of other staff members based upon their expected level of competency. Other duties as assigned. Ophthalmic Specialist Requirements: Has job knowledge to be able to pass the competencies for this level and complete all of the job responsibilities, generally attained with a minimum of 18 months of optometry or ophthalmology experience. High School diploma or equivalent is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Ophthalmic Technician Requirements: A minimum of 12 months of prior experience as an Ophthalmic/Optometric Tech is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
