The Data Engineer for Global Finance Information Management (GFIM) follows standard practices and procedures for ETLs and the management of data in data stores. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with analytics developers to build and configure advanced reporting solutions to support Global Finance’s priority to create a competitive advantage through data, analysis, and fact-based decisions. This role will utilize the newest technological advancements in reporting, analysis, and automation. The incumbent must embrace a culture of deliberate improvement as part of the daily routine and leverage IP’s global operating model to optimize the delivery of services to the enterprise. This position is in the Finance Global Operations (FGO) Analytics Team, part of the GFIM organization.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Demonstrated ability to pull data from systems and create ETLs to move data to target data stores

  • Optimize processes for data refreshes and cleaning of data

  • Maintain existing data flows and create new data flows based on existing templates

  • Query and validate data across multiple sources, focusing on data integrity and security

  • Monitor data quality and take adequate measures to clean the data in the ETL processes

  • Develop and maintain data source documentation, backup, and recovery procedures as needed

  • Adhere to prescribed data analytic methodology

  • Follow established test protocols to ensure appropriate testing before entering data into production

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Business/Data Analytics or Business Information Systems

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in data engineering

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Highly prefer knowledge of SQL

  • Prefer working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI/Power Automate/Power Apps and Alteryx

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with others, engage in constructive conflict, and manage interpersonal dynamics

  • Willingness to champion continuous learning and deliberate improvement to build sustainable solutions
