A company in Melville, NY is looking for a Benefits Account Manager to join their team. As the Account Manager you will ensure delivery of exceptional service to clients and prospects by acting as their primary service contact and actively managing their accounts. You will work with Producers and Group Benefits Manager to ensure overall client satisfaction on all aspects of their employee benefit offerings and manage their day-to-day issues. Responsibilities

  • Helps client articulate their long-term benefit goals and develops a strategic plan to achieve them. Becomes a partner with each client

  • Handles all communication with the employer

  • Strategically plans and executes plan renewals and drives the renewal timeline with the Producers and Group Benefits Manager. Anticipates concerns developing from the renewal process

  • Assists with renewal negotiations with the carriers, renewal plan selection and other renewal functions as needed

  • Assesses cross selling opportunities with all clients. Adds value through presenting additional options for their benefits package including voluntary benefits. Works with Producers and Group Benefits

  • Manager to determine what additional lines should be quoted at renewal

  • Ensures that the implementation and transition processes for all carrier changes are handled smoothly with minimal disruption. Communicates and documents major issues and changes

  • Responsible for the renewal checklist

  • May conduct employer presentations (phone/webinar/in person) in a consultative, logical, professional and informative manner. Assesses clients understanding and attitude during meetings and presentations and adjusts accordingly. Encourages feedback from the client

  • Conducts employee meetings/webinars if requested. Works with client to develop employee communication materials.
