Leviton Associate Test Engineer in Melville, New York

About the role This position is responsible for testing and evaluation for special engineering projects, development of specialized/automated test equipment, and forensic engineering. This will be part of the dynamic development of the next generation of new electrical products and the equipment needed to evaluate them. Responsibilities Perform specialized and long-term testing and research projects Design, develop, construct test equipment including automating processes to increase efficiency Write, Modify, and test code and scripts to develop and improve equipment Provide litigation support in the form of evidence analysis and cause and effect testing of exemplar devices Perform safety inspections and testing on Leviton merchandise displays Assist Test Lab supervisor as required Provide instruction to test technicians in proper test procedures and safety Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential in the optimum performance of this position Knowledge/ability of machining processes including mill and lathe Mechanical, electrical, and software (for automation) aptitude Education & Experience Bachelors Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, engineering science) 0-3 years experience in product and materials test engineering Travel On-site What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
