Job Description:

The L3Harris Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Automation team is seeking a Senior Specialist, IT Business Analyst with advanced expertise in data analytics, metrics optimization, and dashboard/analytics design. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers and business/IT owners of data sources, to ensure data-driven insights that inform strategic business decisions.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into actionable insights using advanced data modeling, visualization, and analytics techniques. You will play a pivotal role in creating and refining business intelligence (BI) solutions that empower stakeholders, managers, and executives to make data-informed decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage directly with stakeholders to clarify business objectives and requirements.

  • Translate business needs into precise technical specifications for the development team.

  • Ensure alignment between business expectations and project deliverables, driving the successful execution of BI solutions.

  • Develop and validate user stories, use cases, and functional requirements for dashboards and reporting solutions.

  • Elicit data visualization and reporting needs from management and business users to develop intuitive and insightful dashboards.

  • Gather business requirements, define business rules, create detailed functional specifications, and secure business approval.

  • Identify data sources required to fulfill business intelligence and reporting needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's with 6 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 4 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

  • 2 years of experience developing BI visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Cognos, SSRS, or SAP Business Objects.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working directly with leadership and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization to drive collaboration.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous delivery processes.

  • Ability to develop and organize data solutions that inform BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, etc.).

  • Proven hands-on experience with data architecture, ETL processes, data modeling, and data flows.

  • Strong working knowledge of building business and technical requirements for analytical reports and dashboards.

  • Hands-on experience with the Palantir Foundry platform.

  • Working knowledge of ERP applications such as Oracle EBS, SAP ECC/S4, Deltek Costpoint, Infor, Deltek Cobra, or Peoplesoft.

  • Experience developing complex SQL queries for large datasets. Proficiency in Python (Pandas, Databricks), JavaScript, or other scripting languages.

  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket).

  • Deep understanding of the dashboard development lifecycle and best practices for BI reporting solutions.

  • Expertise in building data solutions and master data management, including the use of data catalogs, master data, data lineage, and business keys for enterprise reporting.

  • Strong background in data modeling, analysis, design, testing, and development of enterprise applications and BI solutions.
