Job Summary:
Hill York seeks a Pipefitter who lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, welds, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems.
Pipefitter Duties and Responsibilities:
Layout, fit, assemble, and install various pipe systems
Inspect work for correct installation and best practices for specifications
Follow detailed work and plans of installation for job
Cuts pipe using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
Threads pipe using threading machine
Bends pipe using pipe bending tools
Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including steel, copper, HDPE, and PVC
Connects pipes using threaded, welding, grooved, soldered, brazes, fused, and hand tools
Secures pipes to structure with brackets, anchors, pipe stands, clamps, and hangers
Determine the appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead
Qualifications:
Ability to read and understand blueprints, documents, and submittals
Ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights
