Job purpose

To provide Supervision on Construction Projects for 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients. The Construction Site Manager establishes and coordinates construction siteactivities,duties and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and in budget. This includes proactively identifying and solving problems, maintaining a high level of quality control, supervising all field/trade personnel, while administering good safety practices with all on site activities.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

Management Duties on site may include:

Quality Control, Site Safety, Environmental Compliance, Superintendence, Estimating, Scheduler, and Security Escort.

Preparation, Maintenance of and General Site Management

  • Supervises all field construction activities including maintaining an organized project site.

  • Assists the subcontractor in obtaining necessary clearances, permits and storage area.

  • Schedules material delivery, work crews and subcontractor activities to ensure timely completion.

  • Provide daily maintenance to the as-built drawings to ensure compliance with the contract.

  • Maintain regular communications with supervisor regarding project status and current issues.

  • Identify unforeseen conditions and notify all affected parties

  • Ensure site security protocols are established and maintained

  • Maintain a current inventory of all owned, leased or rented equipment.

  • Verifies work in place, computes its value for progress payment purposes.

  • Provide Quality Control including; Inspection of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications for on-going and completed work. Notifies supervisors immediately of any discrepancies.

  • Monitors all stages of construction to identify potential problems. Reports problems and recommends solutions to the Project Manager.

  • Audits, analyzes, and provides evaluation of performance to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, stipulations, and standards.

  • Ensures adherence to the 8-koi Safety Program, OSHA and the EM 385 and strives to maintain an accident-free environment.

  • Performs and documents safety audits reporting findings to the Project Manager and CSHO including

  • Conduct and record weekly safety meetings and minutes and ensure that safety equipment is maintained correctly.

  • Investigates accidents and ensures any needed corrective actions are completed.

  • Ensures project complies with all safety regulations as well as state and or contractual standards to avoid fines, civil penalties or criminal prosecution.

  • Provide / Maintain production logs, written reports related to project, Production Records, Meeting Minutes and other related data.

  • Maintain effective project specific documentation

  • May assist in training or supervising new employees.

  • Promotes quality and excellence in customer service.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications / Education / Experience

  • Must be able to obtain US Government Clearance

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Superintendent in the construction industry

  • Five (5) years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing a safety

  • OSHA 30-hour Certification

  • USACE QCMC Certification

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe and other general computer software applications

  • Experience with Primavera and/or Microsoft Project a plus

  • Ability to effectively execute in a high demand environment

  • Must have excellent communication, phone etiquette, customer service and people skills, as well as be able to multitask and stay organized

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently, and have a sharp attention to detail

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

  • Effectively communicate information in verbal and written form, read and review information and charts, perform analytical thinking skills, use sound judgement
