Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Competitive Assessment Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals with our Strategy and Growth organization to support emerging programs. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL or Redondo Beach, CA. Remote/hybrid may be considered if there is ability to travel to participate in regular, on-site activities.

The Competitive Assessment Manager will lead customer and competitor intelligence collection, research, and analysis for the top Aeronautics capture opportunities – providing insight on customer buying behavior, competitor win strategies, and delivering targeted recommendations to capture, division, and sector leadership.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic and tactical competitive insights to capture and campaign teams; primarily focused on Enterprise Priority Win pursuits

  • Customer Intelligence: Acquisition approach, funding forecast, award behaviors, stakeholder analysis, evaluation criteria, etc.

  • Competitor Intelligence: Strategy, leadership, technical solutions, execution approach, SWOT, shaping objectives, etc.

  • Ad hoc projects as assigned, including various deep dive projects to support win themes and ghosting and inform business cases and competitive pricing

  • Develop, organize, and lead teams to successfully execute workshops, strategy reviews, targeted analyses – including Customer/Competitor Black Hats, Consultant engagement and third-party studies, and technical assessments

  • Refine or innovate new team processes to improve efficiency and analysis quality

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; Master’s degree in business, engineering or related discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience; PhD and 4 years of professional/military experience

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain special program access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the needs of the business

  • Strong working knowledge of defense aeronautics market, defense acquisition process, industry portfolios

  • Experience leading, executing, or contributing to competitive assessments or program/capture strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading, executing, or contributing to a variety of competitive assessments or program/capture strategies on major aeronautics opportunities

  • Working knowledge of priority captures and Business Acquisition Process

  • Experience managing external vendors and consultants

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with programs, business management, strategy, supply chain, engineering, and other functions

  • Active Top-Secret clearance and SAP eligibility

  • Graduate degree in business or engineering

Salary Range: $119,300 - $207,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
