About Our Role

Due to internal growth, an opportunity exists for a highly motivated Procurement Category Manager to join our Asia-Pacific (APAC) Procurement team. The Category Manager will focus on category planning and sourcing activities for construction, engineering, maintenance services and capital projects across Simplot’s various global business and manufacturing locations. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager - APAC, this role will be based at our Chifley Park (Mentone) APAC headquarters and will require regular travel to our manufacturing sites across the APAC region.

What You Will Do

In this role you will be expected to maintain a continuous portfolio pipeline to drive procurement processes across the assigned category landscape, including establishing a long-term, 1-3 year strategic category plan to drive value across the enterprise for the assigned projects and initiatives - this strategy development work is completed in partnership with various business unit stakeholders across Simplot's global manufacturing facilities. Category strategies include spend analysis/mapping, external market analysis, “should cost” analysis, supplier and supply management, and establishing a multi-year project portfolio. You will also lead sourcing projects based on the category strategy, and on-demand projects from the respective stakeholders.

• Develop category plan and project portfolio for moderately sized construction, engineering, and operations projects with mid to high-level critically and complexity

• Build strong stakeholder relationships to prioritise and deliver on portfolio projects

• Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost and supply commitments

• Lead sourcing projects including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development

About You

• Relevant experience in a construction, engineering, maintenance services or capital related category

• Demonstrated experience in a commercial/procurement role

• Strong communication and partnership building skills, change management experience advantageous

• Relevant experience within category management and sourcing activities

• Knowledge working in business or functional unit supported by the category

• High level of sales, presentation, negotiation and market/data analytical skills

• MS Office suite proficiency - Ariba experience is advantageous

• Demonstrated experience in “should cost” modeling, corporate capital procurement processes and strategic cost management

• Understanding of procurement project controls and project management tools

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) - or an associate degree combined with 7 - 10 years experience within the procurement field
