The Placement Director role sits within Commercial Risk, Australia, reporting to the Head of Placement, Global & Corporate
Key responsibilities will include -
Providing technical advice and direction to the Global & Corporate segment with appropriate market solutions
Advising on strategy and tactics to ensure we achieve set goals around revenue, margin and client satisfaction
Co-ordinate the broader placement team in an overarching risk transfer strategy and execution across all product lines
Conducting negotiations with underwriters and executives within our carrier partners
Implementing and providing input into our market engagement strategies
Provide input and advice around improving Aon policy structures and wordings
Create and share insights with clients, carriers and colleagues from Aon’s data & analytics platforms
Strategic Account Manager on nominated accounts
How this opportunity is different
As we look to continue the investment into our Placement Team, a core business unit within Commercial Risk Solutions at Aon, we are currently seeking a Placement Director for a role that will predominantly focus on risks emanating from our large client business - Global & Corporate.
This role requires the strategy design and negotiation of insurance in the Australian market as well as through our Global Broking Centres of Singapore, London and Bermuda.
Involved in the design and placement of the risk transfer solutions of our larger clients, you’ll play a key role in market and client engagement as well as advising internal key stakeholders on placement strategy to suit their clients’ needs across a broad industry and product base. Negotiation, influence and relationship management capabilities are vital for this role.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
An in-depth understanding of all commercial products and policy wordings, with a particular focus on Property
Demonstrable track record in being able to clearly articulate an insurer engagement strategy
Outstanding negotiation and communication skills
A strong personality that can work in an ever-changing and fluid role
Ability to interpret data and make recommendations on solutions that are consistent with the goals set by the various business leaders
Strong insurer network at all levels and ability to communicate and negotiate well with insurers
Have the resilience to deal with conflict and achieve resolution when resistance is present
Exposure to Captive structures and complex placements as well as good knowledge of the International hubs of London and Singapore
