About the role:

As the Chef de Cuisine, you will have full culinary control of the menus and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. Your role is crucial in meeting and exceeding guest expectations, as you work closely with our Executive Sous Chef and Events Sales Teams to provide tailored experiences.

You will be well presented and comfortable meeting with our clients during the planning process. You will be deeply passionate about hospitality and always drive the team to excellence. Our Food Philosophy Is: Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Assist in maximizing employee morale and productivity

  • Prepare, create and present all dishes for client events

  • Ensure all dishes from the section are prepared consistently and according to standard

  • Assign responsibilities to subordinates and to check their performance periodically

  • Assist in the training and guidance of culinary employees

  • Monitoring all kitchen operating costs and take corrective action when necessary to reduce expenses

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Chef de Cuisine leading a fast-paced event kitchen

  • Experience in premium large-scale stand-alone 5-star hotel

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

  • Qualifications / certificates in HACCP, local Food handling & Hygiene would be advantageous

  • Exceptional people management skills and a commitment to developing employees

  • The confidence to promote ideas and make sound decisions under pressure

  • A strong attention to detail and the desire to produce high quality operational and administrative outcomes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead a team

  • The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of 5 star grooming standards

  • The flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster including public holidays
