Job Description

Summary of Job Description:

AbbVie has a strong pipeline that serves patients in the areas of Haematology and Oncology. The Account Manager is a member of a team that will be responsible for representing and promoting AbbVie in the Haematology community in Australia.

In this role you will partner with in-field team members and work with Healthcare Professionals to raise awareness of AbbVie’s approved Haematology product and enhance patient outcomes. You will develop specific, tailored plans for key accounts to ensure the availability of AbbVie product and its safe and appropriate use. Stakeholder mapping and supporting across various types of HCP is vital.

You will need to promote a highly technical and innovative product portfolio to a highly educated audience. The development of relationships and maintaining an active presence with Haematology physicians, nurses and pharmacists will be essential elements of the position.

As a member of the Oncology Business Unit the Account Manager will be the infield expert with respect to growing AbbVie’s approved portfolio. You will work closely with external stakeholders, as well as cross-functionally with internal field and head office personnel to develop and advance brand programs and initiatives.

The role will primarily focus on a Haematology medicine approved in Australia.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Patient Focus:

  • Build awareness and sensitivity of the patient condition and issues to demonstrate understanding and to integrate a focus on patient care and outcomes into approaches with customers.

Customer Partnering:

  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with HCPs, prioritising those that are most critical to AbbVie from a commercial and reputational perspective to improve levels of customer service and deliver outcomes

  • Develop call strategies to grow awareness of AbbVie and its associated services to drive patient outcomes.

Business Planning:

  • Gather and analyse relevant customer, territory and state information to help prioritise activity/resources and deliver the best result for AbbVie

  • Develop specific, tailored plans for key accounts and customers so that actions are planned, and risks are managed to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Maintain customer databases and complete all internal processes pre and post call so that performance is tracked.

Expertise/Innovation:

  • Create solutions that enhance team performance, customer service and outcomes by bringing in best practice and innovation from external sources to help develop customer strategies and act as expertise lead for area of responsibility.

  • Keep up to date with medical and regulatory developments, competitor activity, internal policies and processes to provide the best possible service to customers.

Collaboration:

  • Build and enhance professional contacts within areas of responsibility and expertise to increase sector knowledge, broaden the brand and reputation of AbbVie and stay up to date with new products, disease states and medical understanding.

  • Shares learning and information with colleagues to enhance understanding and build a strong collaborative mindset within the sales team.

  • Mentor and coach team members whenever opportunities arise to help develop capability in the team.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Required:

  • Current Haematology / Oncology sales experience

  • Account and Territory Management experience

  • Ability to develop and manage projects cross-functionally
