SHIFT MECHANIC

Titan Florida LLC has an opening for a SHIFT MECHANIC in the Cement Division. This wage non-exempt position is assigned to the Production Department and will report to a Shift Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Provide mechanical maintenance, including repairs, lubrication, welding, alignment and any necessary functions to operate.

• Provide inspection, lubrication, manual work on a daily basis.

• Inspect and keep the equipment being operated, clean and safe.

• Complete daily reports on equipment throughout the plant .

• Inspect used parts to determine change in dimensional requirements.

• Operate mobile equipments such as forklifts, bobcats, front-end loaders, dump trucks, dust trucks, overhead crane and portable welding machine.

• Receive training on unfamiliar equipment.

• Report equipment breakdowns to generate work orders.

• Communicate and maintain decorum over a two-way radio.

• Respond to control room to resolve problems throughout the plant.

• Maintain Plant housekeeping and safety initiatives.

• Resolve material flow problems throughout the plant.

• Must provide assistance to maintenance Mechanics and Electricians as necessary.

• Collect samples from mills as necessary.

• Must work during assigned duties during kiln outage.

• Must be able to work in high places, confined and/or hot environments as required.

• Must keep the equipment being operated, clean and safe.

• Must perform all duties assigned by Supervisor.

  Qualifications Required:

• Must read, speak and write English.

• Must be able to work rotating shifts, overtime, on-call duties and beeper when necessary.

• Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear.

• Must be capable of heavy physical labor work.

• Familiarity with hand and pneumatic tools a plus.

• Must be able to weld and cut with a torch.

• Must be able to lift up to 94 lbs.

• Ability to work well with others.

• Safety minded.

• Basic computer knowledge.

• AA degree or 2 year college or technical school, or 5 years related experience or training.

• Have a current driver’s license.

  Shift: Rotating Shifts as required.

  (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m./3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m./ 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.)
