RN - Hybrid: Progressive Care Unit + Intensive Care Unit

This position is a hybrid position and will be scheduled on both the Progressive Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit.

Medina Hospital's 2 North PCU is a 30-bed step-down unit specializing in caring for cardiac, neurology and stroke patients. As RN, some of your responsibilities include titration of medications, dysrhythmia management, telemetry monitoring and routine patient care. Medina Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers newly renovated patient beds, state-of-the-art technical equipment and top-quality patient care. By taking this opportunity, you'll join an exceptional, team-oriented unit who has caregivers who have been on the unit for over 25 years. This unit also has a strong Shared Governance group that meets monthly to work on continuous improvement projects.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.

  • Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of body motion for handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time

  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range

  • Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids

  • Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

  • Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
