Description

As a full-time, paid* R&D Intern* at Carlisle Brake and Friction, Solon, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Engineering team to assist in project and design work.

Responsibilities:

• Creating new and updating old Work Instructions 
• Formulating Hand sheets, Bonding, Grooving
• Dynamic Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
• Retention Studies
• Adhesive Film Testing
• Learning Friction Material Composition

Accomplishments from Internship:

By the end of the Internship term, the Intern should know:

• Basic about wet friction material formulation, 
• Hand sheet making and test part bonding for evaluation
• Tests that are used to evaluate the friction material formulation and how to interpret the data
• Finish at least 5 work instructions related to R & D activities once being trained by our technicians
• Whenever possible join in the customer problem solving activity

Requirements

• A student of Junior or Senior academic standing, pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team
• Upholds organizational values and integrity
• Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion and accuracy.
• Willing to be located onsite at Carlisle Brake and Friction R & D Center in Solon, OH
