Overview
Horizon Farm Credit seeks an Enterprise Risk Manager to join our team. Qualified candidate may work in any available Horizon Farm Credit branch. Our ideal candidate is an experienced, organized, detail-oriented, and analytical individual excited to help mitigate risk across the organization to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives. The hours of operations are typically, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Position Description: In this role, you will be responsible for leading the advancement of the Association's enterprise risk program including the ongoing development of the enterprise risk management framework, maintaining enterprise risk taxonomy, establishing risk appetite and tolerance statements, execution of risk identification, risks assessment and risk aggregation methodologies, development of KRIs, policy governance, risk committee and board reporting. You will work independently with general direction and minimal supervision. You will collaborate with the Operational Risk department for enterprise risk aggregation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the organization's risk management framework, including the risk universe, profile, and appetite statements.
- Maintain Risk Appetite Statements updated and manage linkages between top-level Risk Appetite Statements and actionable key risk indicators.
- Advise CERO on changes and enhancements to the Framework to ensure it remains aligned with the organization's overall strategy and objectives.
- Monitors the industry to identify trends of significant or emerging risks and participates in industry forums to keep current on best practices in Enterprise Risk programs.
- Partner with the operational risk department to identify, assess, monitor, measure, and report on key risk indicators.
- Perform analysis for risk trends and data discrepancies, while effectively communicating analysis output.
- Guide and assist executive leadership in the identification, evaluation, understanding, management, and communication of significant business risks.
- Lead and coordinate the annual risk assessment process, including consolidating and analyzing results, and the preparation and presentation of the results to management and the Board.
- Develops and implements tools or processes that enhance risk reporting capabilities. Oversees the documentation of risk metrics and data to provide reports for executive leadership.
- Prepare regular risk reports for the CERO, Executive Leadership Team, Executive Risk Committee, and the Board's Audit and Risk Committees, highlighting key risk indicators, ongoing risk management efforts, and recommendations for improvement.
- Establish and maintain key relationships throughout the organization as a means of obtaining information needed to perform duties and provide audit and risk and related recommendations and corrective action plans as requested by senior leadership or the Board.
Education
Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or Finance. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience
Generally, 8-10 years of experience in risk management, preferably in the financial services industry with leadership experience.
Preferred Skills
- Preferred certifications include - CPA, CIA, CFE, CRMA, or related designation.
- Possess extensive knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management principles and methodologies.
- Knowledge of operational and enterprise risk management including identification, assessment, and escalation of risk is ues.
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, project management skills, and the ability to adapt to a changing work environment and work independently.
- Ability to identify regulatory compliance gaps within internal guidance (policies and procedures).
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work branch hours of operation (typically Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Salary range: $93,000 - $116,300, depending on experience.
