We are seeking an experienced Production plant leader to direct and coordinate site activities at our facility in Mead, CO. This manager will be responsible for production activities, site organization, site housekeeping, physical chemical storage, and overall safe operation of the site for all of the activities at the Mead location. This manager will manage shift production supervisors who oversee a large 24/7 team of Operators.

Job Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day safe management of the Production Department in coordination with the Director, Operations (department operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week) to ensure that production goals around quality, cost, and timeliness are met
Manages the work product of approximately 70 employees; supervises, coaches, evaluates, trains, and develops the Mead production staff to ensure efficient work and a cohesive work crew
Ensures that Operators and Supervisors are trained and prepared to safely produce products and that the Production Department follows all applicable PSM regulations
Monitors all processes, plant conditions, and overall site practices for safety and quality
Responsible for oversight of the site beyond normal business hours and may be required to work a non-routine schedule
Works closely with QA and Analytical/R&D Chemist to ensure safe and efficient processing of samples, communication of results, along with consistent quality of ‘button ups’ and
Checks all Batch Records before processes start to ensure they are the most current
Responsible for closely participating in the review of each process prior to it being launched in Production; during the Run phase, have first-hand knowledge of all important aspects of each process or activity of the Production operation
Ensures that all Batch Records are completed appropriately, all material movements are managed in the ERP system, and all production time is properly posted
Responsible for coordinating with EHS&S to manage Hazardous Materials storage and disposition for the entire site
Coordinates with other employees to set up and maintain stock for consumable items and process tools that will be needed to perform normal production and other SP processes
Works with Engineers to improve PLC and HMI performance and to implement process changes that improve efficiency, reliability and throughput
Coordinates the overall activity at the Mead site associated with Operations and Manufacturing. Partners with the site maintenance manager to appropriately schedule and coordinate maintenance activities
Qualifications
Degree required. BS, Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years managing a contemporary Fine Chemicals facility
Must be proficient in OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to Production operations and safe handling of hazardous chemicals
Experience
Preference will be given to candidate with relevant industrial experience, especially managing operations utilizing pyrophoric, or highly hazardous materials
Experience updating and maintaining the production side of an ERP system, including making suggestions to improve the system for operational efficiency
Supervision of Operating personnel, preferably in a rotating shift work schedule
Decision making relevant to complex chemical processing and formulation
A job-related physical is required
Work Environment
This position will be working in and around production, laboratory, and warehouse settings with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals. Proper PPE will be required at all times. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will work at times outside and will be exposed to various weather conditions.
