MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoc Fellow - GI Medical Oncology Research in MDA-On-Site, United States

For the department of GI Medical Oncology, the Postdoctoral Fellow will assists the principal investigator with clinical, translational, and basic scientific research projects. Functions in a separate and independent manner in the design and initiation of research experiments. Focuses on bioinformatic data management, analysis, algorithm development and application. Designs bioinformatic tools and develops approaches or adapts complex data sets derived from multi-omics experiments or research to obtain high-reliability results and reports. Determines specific goals or objectives to be obtained, evaluates research data, and develops and revises techniques or approaches to work problems.

Interfaces with the electronic medical record, and databases of tissue samples and tumor molecular data. Plans training and research work activity for assigned laboratory and research personnel.

Compiles, writes, and submits project results for publications. Writes grant applications independently and assists principal investigator with grant applications. Collaborates with both experimental and computational members of the lab.

Additionally,

a. Independently proposes innovative solutions to research projects and contributes to project goals through computational analysis; willing and able to learn and adapt existing bioinformatics tools for application to his/her research projects.

b. Interpret, present and report research findings at internal meetings and potentially external scientific.

conferences.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Graduate degree in medicine, science, engineering field or bioinformatics

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson follows the NIH stipend levels as outlined by the Kirchstein - NRSA (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-23-076.html) . This full-time trainee position will provide a salary between $56,484 to $68,604, dependent upon the years of postgraduate experience.
