About the Role:

As a Regional Markets Senior Account Executive, you’ll play a critical role in supporting MetLife’s growth. This team provides global benefits, sales, and solutions to U.S.-based employers with fewer than 5,000 employees—and with over 15,000 customers, it generates approximately $1.1 billion in annual sales and $4+ billion in revenue. Industry-wide, this $52 billion market typically grows 3-4%—but thanks to our exceptional team, MetLife consistently achieves 7-8% growth.

You’ll help us maintain this momentum, working closely with advisors to small and regional businesses who want to expand their employee benefits. At the same time, you’ll work collaboratively with various other departments, allowing you to explore new career possibilities and develop new strengths.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with advisors within a defined territory and find solutions that improve employers’ insurance offerings—providing

more people with quality insurance that works for them* Lead and assist in account management and creation

  • Build lasting relationships with local consultants and brokers to grow our book of business

  • Recognize occasions to upsell and offer new services to existing clients

  • Collaborate with colleagues on marketing, communication, and client services initiatives, developing new skills to complement

your sales knowledge

About You:

You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for people. You thrive on meaningful interactions with others, whether it's gaining a deeper understanding of challenges they’re facing or working collaboratively to solve a problem. This affinity extends to your workplace community as well, and you strive to refine your skills while encouraging others.

Your previous sales experience has allowed you to hone your expertise, but you find yourself craving an atmosphere where you can broaden your horizons—maybe even make improvements that will impact your industry for years to come.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in insurance sales and/or after-sales service—with a proven track record of success

  • Valid Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses, or the ability to obtain Life & Health within three months of hire, and Property & Casualty within six months of hire

  • Stellar customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills—including public speaking, negotiating, influencing, and networking savvy

  • Finely tuned listening skills, complemented by a masterful talent for solving problems

  • Strategic and creative thinking skills

  • Keen financial acumen and attention to detail, particularly concerning product earnings

  • Motivated, independent, and adaptable working style, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced situations that require multitasking and prioritization

  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment

  • Able to accommodate a Hybrid work schedule

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred:

  • Bachelors or other advanced degree
