Department Summary:

The Cost and Business Analytics Department within MITRE’s Cost, Acquisition, and Management Sciences (CAMS) Innovation Center solves our Sponsors’ problems by leveraging our key capabilities in Cost Estimation & Analysis, Investment Economics & Decision Analysis, and Strategic Business & Financial Analytics. Our department serves as a vanguard for MITRE to meet the future needs of our customers requiring technical excellence while encouraging creativity and fostering interests at the intersection of emerging technologies, cost, business, and economic impacts across its diverse membership. Job Description:

The Cost and Business Analytics Department, L213, is seeking an Integration and Operations (I&O) Manager focused on staff management, staff development, technical expertise, and delivery of high-quality technical products. The successful candidate will partner with the Department Manager and will be an active member of the department leadership team. Candidates should have a track record of leading people, thinking and acting innovatively, and collaborating across boundaries.

The new I&O Manager will work closely with the Department Manager to lead the Department and will serve as a first line supervisor to Group Leaders and senior staff. The ideal candidate will promulgate a culture of quality, excellence, teamwork, staff development, continued learning, innovation, evaluation, and benchmarking to ensure continuous improvement within the department and in all aspects of the department's work program.

The I&O position is critical to staff and department outcomes. We are looking for people who get excited by a challenge and are motivated to make a difference in staff development, business development, technical direction setting, and morale.

Key Functions:

  • As part of the L213 senior leadership team, contribute to people management, work program shaping, staffing in a matrix environment, business operations, and customer relationship management for an 80-person department

  • Developing and executing department vision and strategies

  • Hiring, onboarding, mentoring, communicating, and facilitating

  • Supporting the recognition, recruiting, overhead budget management, and staffing processes

  • Work shaping and developing new business in our core capability areas (Cost Estimating & Analysis, Investment Economics & Decision Analysis, and Strategic Business & Financial Analytics)

  • Direct supervisor to group leaders and select senior staff

  • Advisor to group leaders, supporting staff development and goal alignment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 7 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 4 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Experience in leading large teams with a diverse skill sets and skill levels across geographies in a dynamic work environment

  • Strong desire to work with people

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience coaching and mentoring employees in remote locations

  • Understanding of all and expertise in more than one of our capabilities, i.e., Cost Estimating & Analysis, Investment Economics & Decision Analysis, Strategic Business & Financial Analytics

  • Current Secret or above security clearance as well as eligibility for TS/SCI clearance

  • This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience

  • Broad knowledge of Federal Government Acquisition and Program Management
