Steampunk isexcited to announce the launch of our AI Lab ,to push the boundaries of innovationbyincubating and developing prototype-level federal AI use cases toshowcasethe potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) and othernew, innovativeAI technologies to our clients.We are looking foranAI Lab Leadwhowill be at the forefront of our AI innovation, driving the development and execution of AI projects fromideato prototype.

This role requires a unique blend of technicalexpertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of AItechnology and applicationsin the federal sector.

• Lead the establishment and operationalization of the AI Lab, setting strategic direction and goals.

• Oversee thedefinition, prioritization,incubation,and development of federal AI use cases, ensuring projects align with client needs andpolicyguidelines.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions with existing practices in data exploitation,DevSecOps, cybersecurity,digital platforms,anddesign.

• Stay abreast of advancements in AI, LLMs,Deep Learning,and related technologies, ensuring our solutionsremaincutting-edgeand relevant.

• Serve as a technical advisor and thought leader in AI, both internally and to our federal clients.

• Manage stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating progress, challenges, and outcomes of AI initiativesto our AI Lab Board.

• Leadthe AI Lab team, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous learning.

• Contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitationand Artificial IntelligencePractice!

Qualifications

• Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence,Machine Learning,Data Science, or a related field.

• Proven hands-on experience implementing AI and machine learning solutions.

• Provenexperience in AI and machine learning project development and management, with a portfolio of successful projects.

• Strong background in AI technologies, including LLMs, with hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI solutions.

• Deep understanding of LLM model architecture, model refinement and fine tuning, prompt engineering, ensemble models, and mixtures of experts.

• Deep understanding ofGPU-based computeand familiarity with GPU hardware-based services in the three major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Hands-on experience working withDevSecOpsengineers to support aDataOps/MLOpsenvironment.

• Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.

• Familiarity with federal IT standards and requirements, with a preference for candidates with experience in the federal government sector.

• Innovative thinker witha track recordofidentifyingand implementing emerging AI technologies in practical, impactful ways.

• Exceptional leadership skills with experience building and managing technical teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating complex technical details into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
