Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technicianprovidesfunctional and clerical supporttothepharmacists and ensures that all medications are handled, packaged,preparedand charged according to currently accepted policies and practices. What you will do in this role:

  • You willfill orders by accurately preparing and packaging medications.

  • You will deliver medications and other pharmacy supplies to the nursing units.

  • You will performthedailyAutomated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC)routineas assigned (i.e.restocks, outdates, discrepancy resolution, loading and unloading, etc.) and troubleshootADC issues(i.e.orders not coming across, drawer failures, medication jams, communication failures, etc.).

  • You will process medication returns(unused,discontinuedor patient discharge).

  • You willmonitorpharmacyinventory andnotify the manager of products that need to be reordered.

  • You willassistthe pharmacists in clinical reviews as assigned (i.e.medication reconciliation, triaging reports,etc.).

  • You will accuratelymaintainrequired documentation logs and perform audits (i.e.anesthesia, overrides, etc.) as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

  • Possess the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Demonstrated competence surrounding pharmaceutical terminology

  • Effectivedecision makingskills and attention to detail

  • State Registration Pharmacy Technician

  • High School Graduate / GED
