Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium and heavy-duty truck parts sold under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided the company’s truck manufacturing divisions and PACCAR Parts service parts division with high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft’s manufacturing facilities are located in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Job Summary

Dynacraft is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to work in McKinney, TX. The position will report to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager in support of manufacturing methods, tooling, equipment and processes development and growth. The position additionally studies facilities and assembly processes, making recommendations and implementing changes to improve efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Develops allocation of space within the plants across the division and design of tools to achieve efficient arrangement of workflow and materials.

  • Perform feasibility studies for facility utilization, expansion, consolidation, or termination.

  • Identify and development of justification for capital expenditures across the division.

  • Provide manufacturing input throughout connected factory systems; software development, testing and general Manufacturing Execution System (MES) projects.

  • Reviews engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommends changes, as necessary.

  • Improve productivity of and reduce the floor space required by existing product lines.

  • Coordinate plant input and feedback for project or reorganization activity.

  • Facilitates effective communication to plant management on project status.

  • Provide progress reports and status updates to management.

  • Coordinate facility energy usage & strategy to enhance energy conservation.

  • Actively participate in Six Sigma projects as a belt and team member.

  • Supports Division Six Sigma program management.

  • Supports Division Capital budget management system.

  • Supports implementation of Paccar Production System principles.

  • Supports connected plant industry 4.0 initiatives and related technologies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants will be detailed oriented, well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Applicant should have basic understanding of Six Sigma practices; a basic understanding of Six Sigma Minitab software is a plus.

  • Applicants must be able to multi-task, prioritize, successfully handle pressure, and work/make decisions independently when required.

  • The successful candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with prove record leading successful projects.

  • Software or Controls knowledge a plus.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required.

Education

  • Degree in Engineering or appropriate major required.

  • MBA or post-secondary degree preferred.

  • Masters in Engineering degree preferred.

  • PACCAR or other similar Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

  • Experience working both in the Engineering and Manufacturing preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability gained through 7 - 10 or more years of engineering experience, preferably with one to five years of manufacturing/industrial engineering or design for manufacturability experience.

  • Applicant should have excellent PC skills: including MS Word, Excel & Access, AutoCAD, ProEngineer, CATIA or CREO software experience is a plus.
