UPMC Mental Health Worker Associate (Matilda Theiss CSBBH 'Cool Zone') in Mckeesport, Pennsylvania

Purpose:

Matilda Theiss CSBBH “Cool Zone” Program has 4 different school teams, supporting up to 40 students per school in grades K-5th. We provide behavioral support at school, home and community settings, individual & family therapy, service coordination and referrals.

The ideal hire for this position should have interest and/or previous experience working with elementary-aged kids, behavior modification skills a plus, needs reliable transportation, willing to be part of an on-call rotation for crisis support. Facilitate groups, provide documentation and other patient support as requested.

The dress code for this position is business casual. This is a Monday through Friday 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM, with some on-call and evening hours.

Responsibilities:

· In cooperation with the team, develop, assess, facilitate and monitor group activities for the patients.

· Monitor daily progress notes, data collection, summarization, and graphing for assigned patients. This includes but is not limited to educational, behavioral and skills development programs as well as research protocols.

· Work effectively and cooperatively in a trans-disciplinary environment, served by the supervision of several senior staff.

· Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioral and functional assessments of the patients.

· Promote professional rapport with co-workers, patients, and visitors to the Institute.

· Coordinate the data management involved in program evaluation and report these findings to other clinical community members.

· Assess and monitor skills development programming (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive, social skills, process) for the patients.

· Assist in monitoring patient satisfaction (teachers, parents, child, outside agency)

· Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling and education or related field required.

· Minimum of One year of experience in mental health or related field preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

· Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

· Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

· Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

· Act 33 with renewal

· Act 34 with renewal

· Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
