Bureau of Reclamation Administrative Officer in McCook, Nebraska

Duty Location: McCook, Nebraska For living conditions go to: https://www.usbr.gov/gp/employment/living_conditions.pdf Responsibilities -Provide management advisory service on problems or issues which encompass substantive administrative services. -Analyze administrative methods, procedures, and practices as they relate to organizational needs to ensure effective and satisfactory administrative operations. -Develop and execute a human resource management program. -Coordinate, prepare, and implement the programming and budgeting requirements; manages the training, travel and bank card programs, etc. -Manage a full range of property, and procurement activities, records management, budget, information resource management, contract repayment, grants and agreements, and support services. -Through direct supervision, oversees and directs the operations and activities of employees carrying out the work of the Administrative Support Group. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position. Qualifications In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. To qualify at the GS-12, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-11 level in federal service having demonstrated experience performing activities in the field of human resources; coordinating the administration of a work group, such as budgeting, training, travel arrangements, records and fleet management, or property and procurement activities; implementing administrative procedures to effectively manage organizational needs; and advising management on administrative services Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 07/15/2024. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional Information You may be required to serve an initial probationary period. Current, permanent Federal employees who are selected from this announcement may be required to serve a probationary period. You may be required to serve an initial supervisory probation period.
