Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/CUSTSPT), Position Description Number D2176P01 and is part of the KS 184 Intelligence Wing, National Guard. Responsibilities As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Network), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the Operations Section supervisor and a senior Information Technology (IT) specialist. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The purpose of this position is to perform a full range of supervisory functions providing administrative control and technical direction and oversight for subordinate personnel within the Section. Responsible for analyzing customer requirements and managing the systems administration, optimization, operational requirements and maintenance associated with the various local area/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), wireless systems, and voice systems utilized by both Wing and tenant organizations on the base. Manages customer IT requirements to meet operational, training, and readiness missions. Ensures viable training programs are developed for assigned functions. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-8 through E-9 Compatible Military Assignments: 1D791 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11(or equivalent). level. Specialized experience includes: Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of incumbents. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to incumbents on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. Provides technical expertise and management oversight, in the installation, administration, optimization, and operation of multiple large and enhanced complex networks and communication systems. Establishes project plans and priorities and coordinates with appropriate personnel to carry out the plans. Provides guidance to subordinates on the development of complex project plan tasks and timeliness. Provides detailed information regarding all technical aspects of equipment, software, and systems. Develops and applies project management techniques to the obtainment of new systems and enhancements to existing systems projects. **Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification SECURITY + within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
