About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. This position performs preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs of hand tools, power tools, and stationary shop equipment. Responsibilities Make Concrete saw blades by cutting correct length from bulk Chain Material properly matching the teeth, then filing and setting. File and set hand saws, keyhole saws, meter saws and cross-cut saws. Repair banding tools such as stretchers, cutters, and crimpers by oiling, adjusting and replacing worn parts. Document the issuance of supplies to employees. Perform regular maintenance on shop tools and equipment. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Tools and Equipment Repairer without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common tasks such as repairing and replacing broken tools, applying warehouse regulations to receive, store, issue, and re-warehouse materials. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Performs tiring work for long periods involving frequent standing, bending, stooping and working in uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies and other material weighing up to 10 pounds; may occasionally handle items that weight up to 40 pounds; dollies, hand trucks, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work is sometimes dirty, dusty and greasy. Employee is frequently exposed to loud noise and the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a(n) Logistics Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Relocation (Government Home Sale) Expenses are not authorized. Recruitment, Relocation, and Retention Incentives are not authorized. This position may require overtime work. This position may require you to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing. This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
