Handicare USA Inc Senior Accountant in Maryland Heights, Missouri

OVERVIEW: The Senior Accountant has a wide-ranging scope that will require the successful candidate to be comfortable dealing with multiple aspects of financial control and direction with a growing manufacturing, installation and service organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare month end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Analyze vendor accounts in effort to control the DPO metric
  • Manage the companies IFRS 16 compliance
  • Provide customer and product margin analysis as part of the month-end close process
  • Ensure that corporate wide accounting policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Ensure that internal controls systems and processes are best practice, effective, documented and operating as designed
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities
  • Coordinate and manage the capital expenditure process for the division
  • Interact with external auditors as needed
  • Oversee maintenance and the integrity of financial systems used to support the business function
  • Additional duties as requested or required by management

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must have working knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with Canadian taxes a plus
  • Ability to advise and assist Controller in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to build a strong finance team that works closely with operations
  • Ability to manage financial control and be capable of managing dual reporting relationships
  • Understands business implications of decisions
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Meets productivity standards, adhering to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy

LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and

TRAINING:

  • Bachelors Degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four -year college or university in accounting, finance or business and 5 to 7 years of related experience in the manufacturing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
