TITLE: Lead Software Developer

LOCATION: Maryland Heights, MO

JOB SUMMARY: Design, develop, modify and implement applications and/or services designed to support Charter applications. Write code and perform unit integration testing of software. Utilize JavaScript and Shell or Bash scripting to develop code. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems to improve application performance and functionality. Utilize Oracle SQL to handle data and perform database operations and utilize ETL to extract, transform, and load principles. Build multiple business intelligence pipelines to derive statistical aggregated information from large data sets (both structured and unstructured data) and build interactive and readable reports using Tableau or Pentaho Report Developer. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for migration, consolidation and upgrade of system components. Lead code review sessions to validate adherence with development standards and provide input. Establish framework for projects and initiatives. Identify and recommend design and requirement needs for software enhancements. Analyze and resolve computer related problems by coordinating with team members to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions. Resolve incidents and problems for production applications and web services. Recommend efficiency for software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. 3 years of experience: utilizing Oracle SQL to handle data and perform database operations; utilizing JavaScript to develop code; utilizing ETL to extract, transform, and load principles; performing data warehouse development, data modelling and data manipulation; and building multiple business intelligence pipelines to derive statistical aggregated information from large data sets (both structured and unstructured data) and building interactive and readable reports using Tableau or Pentaho Report Developer. 2 years of experience developing code using Shell or Bash scripting. A hybrid (in office and remote work) arrangement is available. Experience can be gained pre or post qualifying degree.
