Aspen Aerogels, Inc. Technical Services Engineer in Marlborough, Massachusetts

The Technical Services Engineer is a key member of the Technical Services Group within the Sales and Marketing organization. The Technical Services Engineer will work directly with customers, specifying engineers, salespeople, and other members of the internal organization to develop successful applications of Aspen’s insulation products. The Technical Services Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills, a solid technical education, and a desire to address difficult customer requirements with engineered solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform customer technical support
Conduct on-site visits, including field surveys within industrial facilities
As part of the team, design, build and execute large-scale custom test programs
Create and deliver presentations to technical audiences
Work with customers to develop new applications with current products
Create handling documentation and applications handbooks and guides
Conduct custom thermal analysis to support specialized aerogel applications
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Willingness to travel 5-15% of the time, to both domestic and international destinations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering.
Experience with programming (Visual Basic, Python, C++, etc.) a plus
Experience in thermal and/or mechanical design and analysis
Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD systems a plus
Experience with commercial finite element analysis (FEA) packages a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
