The Reliability Engineer will be responsible to provide technical expertise to ensure success of the Process Safety Management (PSM)/MIQA (Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance) and reliability programs with an emphasis on equipment performance and reliability.
The individual will focus on improving site Predictive/Preventive technologies and will play an integral role in driving TEEP/OEE excellence for the site.
This position is the "go to person" for all matters of equipment reliability. This position focuses on enhancing equipment reliability through analysis versus first response or day-to-day trouble shooting of failed equipment.
Responsibilities:
Develop, lead, and implement programs/systems/processes and equipment upgrades that improve equipment reliability/OEE (e.g., preventive, and predictive maintenance systems, techniques and schedules, material recommendations, troubleshooting guides, repair plans, training, spare parts, etc.)
Champion foundational Maintenance Reliability Programs that include Alignment, Balancing, Lubrication, Oil Analysis, Vibration Analysis, etc.
Apply engineering practices, and principles to perform failure analysis, such as RCFA and 5-Why, to determine root cause of equipment failures and conduct equipment performance evaluations.
Actively participate in DuPont maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes, and failures. Leverage network learnings to improve Reliability at the plant site.
Provide Reliability Leadership, coaching, and support to maintenance technicians and site embedded contractors related to early work identification, Standard Operating Procedures, and practices impacting general/overall machine health.
Continually promote consistency by standardizing procedures/equipment within area of responsibilities.
Support of mechanical turn-around/shutdown teams providing input and leadership into needed equipment inspection and repair procedures, particularity site utilities equipment (Air Handler units, industrial chillers, water pumps, and cooling towers)
Identify and support training needs for maintenance technicians and others supporting Reliability and Maintenance functions.
Analyze equipment trends, historical data, field data, and Uptime/OEE data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment.
Analyze equipment Criticality and develop/improve maintenance strategies and spare part strategies to prevent a failure event and ensure attainment of production objectives.
Ensure processes are followed regarding updating information (history) in CMMS to maintain equipment records as well as proper frequencies for maintenance plans.
Support site capital projects by participating in selection of equipment “fitness for use” criteria and specifications to optimize equipment/system reliability and life cycle cost. Also provide technical support for QA/QC, installation, and start-up of all new critical equipment.
Ensure the unit MIQA systems meet the requirement of DuPont S21A standard.
Working Environment: The working environment is general office and manufacturing/Fab areas.
Required Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred, however other engineering disciplines will be considered with applicable experience.
A minimum of 3-5 years Reliability experience in a chemical or manufacturing facility.
Knowledge of the various building systems associated with fab, production, research laboratory and office facilities: Air Handlers, Exhaust Fans, Steam, Process Chilled Water, Vacuum, Nitrogen, Compressed Air, and Variable Air Flow Valves.
Desirable Skills:
Data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills.
Systematic decision making, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to plan, prioritize and implement multiple concurrent projects/initiatives.
Ability to build, lead, and work as a team member is a respectful manner in a diverse work environment.
Project Management, leadership, planning and organization experience.
Advanced personal computer skills and Maintenance systems knowledge (CMMS).
Six Sigma certification as either Black Belt or Green Belt.
Knowledge of an experience with:
PSM elements and principles
Rotating equipment and alignment techniques
ISO and other related quality standards
