MARION COMMUNITY FOUNDATION JOB DESRIPTION Position Title: Program Director Position Supervisor: President/CEO Position Location: Marion, Ohio GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Program Director develops and maintains relationships with local charities, partner organizations, and community leaders; and will manage the foundation's major program areas of grants and scholarships. The Program Director assists the President/CEO of the Foundation on donor relations, stewardship, and development. This position requires regular shared job responsibilities with all other positions at the foundation. PRIMARY AREAS OF FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITY: The Program Director will take leadership in the following duties: ? Relationship development, collaboration, stewardship of local charities, partner organizations, and stakeholders. Seek ways to broaden the foundation's program impact. Participate in community functions. Serve as a community resource and convener. ? Overall management and operation of the various grant programs of the foundation. Includes coordination of volunteer committees. Analysis of information, applications, and reports. Promotion through all grant phases. Extensive written and verbal communication and reporting to donors, grantees, and volunteers. ? Overall management and operation of the scholarship program of the foundation. Includes coordination of multiple volunteer committees. Communication with school officials, applicants, guardians, and fund creators through the complete scholarship season. Review applications. Conduct promotion to encourage participation and recognize donors and results. Monitor process to verify compliance with fund guidelines as well as foundation policies, procedures, and donor intent. Respond to inquiries from potential applicants, recipients, non-recipients, and community groups. ? Input data, maintain information, perform data entry, and complete accurate data management for the grants and scholarship programs. Regularly work in database programs (ex. iPhi, SmarterSelect), fund management software Excel, Word and other software. ? Implement and manage events and programs of the foundation such as Youth Engaged in Philanthropy, Holiday Open House, seminars, advisor luncheons, educational meetings, and new events. ? In cooperation with the President and CEO, assist with donor development and stewardship. Maintain ongoing donor relationships. Initiate contacts, meetings, and calls with new donors. ? Participate as a spokesperson for the foundation at public meetings and events. Actively represent the foundation at community functions. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience ? Seven years of related work experience in the nonprofit sector preferred ? Knowledge of the Marion community; familiar with nonprofit organizations and programs ? Advanced organization and time management skills ? Advanced level Microsoft Office skills ? Advanced oral and written communications skills ? Excellent people skills, including the ability to work effectively and respectfully with the Board of Directors, staff, donors, grantees, community leaders, representatives of nonprofit organizations, and professional colleagues ? Personal traits of maturity, integrity, trust, flexibility, acceptance of responsibility, patience, accuracy, and a sense of humor Salary range dependent upon experience.
