Here, you will make an impact by:Leading film cost, quality, and product yield improvement projects, including driving process development to recommend new equipment or modifications in support of goals.Implementing improvements using Lean, Six Sigma and Value stream tools for repeatable results.Determining customer needs and industry trends and translating those into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and small volume manufacturing. Oversees quality, cost, performance, and reliability of products for entire lifecycle.Supports successful new product launches and rapid resolution of customer complaints for small volume film products, including timely response, communication, and implementation of corrective actions.Willingness to be on-callYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution in engineering or science (completed and verified prior to start)Three (3) years of combined experience in manufacturing and/or product/process development in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree in engineering or science from an accredited institutionFive (5) years of combined experience in manufacturing and/or product/process development in a private, public, government or military environmentTechnical experience in polymer film extrusion, web handling, microreplication, clean coating, lamination, or slittingSix Sigma Green Belt CertificationThree (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solvingThree (3) years of experience on working in a manufacturing environmentThree (3) years of experience on New Product Development and Commercialization TeamsThree (3) years of experience on Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction projectsExperience with unit cost modelingSkills include creative thinking, complex problem solving, leadership, teamwork, and strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsWork location:Maplewood, MNTravel: May include up to 10% domesticRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
