Here, you will make an impact by:Rapidly gain an understanding of 3Ms business divisions and identify potential related sustainability issues (i.e., drivers of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, waste, water stewardship, safety)During relevant projects, act as the expert and/or partner with external experts on core sustainability topics including waste, water, energy, and emissionsIn relation to 3Ms sustainability commitments, goals and key performance indicators, identify key risks to achievement and assist in road-mapping future actionsAssess and evaluate existing ESG processes and identify key risks of fraud or errorRemain abreast of 3Ms primary regulators (globally) and their current and proposed expectations for reporting and disclosureConfidently articulate findings and observations in the form of actionable recommendationsBuild cross-functional relationships to guide, support and connect the dots between business operations and science for circular, climate and community goals and commitmentsContinue to assess material ESG issues as 3M accelerates sustainability efforts, identifying opportunities to partner with external agencies and key stakeholders to build strategic models and a strategic roadmap for overall impactLeverage knowledge and expertise to cross-share with operational audit teams and participate on audits of 3Ms sustainability reporting and effectiveness of control executionYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher in environmental/climate science, sustainability, or public health (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited instiThree (3) years of experience using ESG reporting frameworks and methodologies including TCFD, IIRC, GRI and SASB, CSRD, and the GHG Protocol in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Detail-oriented with strong project management, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExperience in conducting a GHG inventory build and understanding of emission factors databasesExcellent communication (verbal and written), collaboration, and presentation skillsAssurance or attestation experienceExperience managing project work with tight deadlines and working in a fast-paced environmentAbility to engage at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated success in developing and executing against project plansComfortable in both individual contributing roles and cross-functional team management rolesExperience with MS Excel, MS Visio, data analytics and queriesWork location:Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: Is not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
