SCOPE
The Corporate Supplier Manager develops strategic business initiatives, ensuring the execution of the related activities for a category and suppliers, and potentially leads career and business development with their team.
The Corporate Supplier Manager has the mission to proactively:
Reinforce and grow the value of Mouser in the marketplace as the distributor of choice. Drive their business by developing and delivering business and supplier goals. Discover new suppliers, products, and advanced technologies. If applicable, will coach their team members toward operational excellence, and may assist in development of career roadmaps, business acumen, supplier and company knowledge.
The Corporate Supplier Manager reports to a Vice President of Supplier Management, and may directly manage a small team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
In conjunction with their category VP, develops relevant strategic direction for their area of responsibility. Leads efforts in achieving specific revenue, customer and product goals within a product line, product type, category, supplier or corporate strategies. Become an expert in managing suppliers, understanding their competitive landscape and developing their business with a global perspective. Cultivates and maintains influential supplier relationships, and expands Mouser’s market value by fostering unique solutions and advantages for suppliers. Positions Mouser as the preferred go-to-market partner with suppliers. Advocates for categories and suppliers by promoting their market value with the various internal departments. Analyzes business, financial and technical market trends, information and reports to identify new opportunity for growth in current portfolio and in relevant line card expansion. Continually discovers, researches and recommends new suppliers, products, and advanced technologies in support of new designs for customers. Excels at identifying, recommending and championing unique marketing opportunities for their assigned suppliers, employing Mouser’s many marketing tools and teams. Continually evaluates inventory breadth and depth within company targets for categories and suppliers, maintaining the product mix that best meets corporate financial objectives, category strategies and customer requirements. Observes, articulates and effectively reacts to trends (supply and demand, political and environmental, etc.) affecting the marketplace, ensuring that they are implemented across the team. Ensures that response to the various Mouser teams and departments is swift, exhibiting decisive, relevant and customer-focused solutions. Hires, trains and develops qualified people. Employs discretion when dealing with personnel issues. Exhibits effective communication, project and resource management skills, and provides ongoing performance management. Remains continuously up to date with policies, procedures and processes. Demonstrates proficiency in the accountabilities, competencies and skills of the Supplier Manager role and if applicable coaches a team to excel in relationship, NPI, data, inventory, marketing and sales functions. Consults with senior management and executes all other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical Discipline preferred. Eight years of progressive industry related experience preferred including sales, marketing, product management, distribution, asset management, etc.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Expertise in purchasing, inventory management, internal Mouser systems, and global market trend analysis Developing team building and people management skills Advanced knowledge in Excel (70%) and other Microsoft Office programs.
