Emerson Finance Manager in Mansfield, Massachusetts

If you are an Accounting or Finance professional looking for a comprehensive leadership role in a growing business, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mansfield, MA location, you will have primary responsibility to build and grow an environment that ensures the integrity of the financials of the entity. You will supervise all financial aspects of business, including representation within plant leadership team. Act as the main contact with key customers: World Area, Business Unit, shared service, and strategic business unit with regards to financial expectations and results. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead plant financial results reporting process, budgeting/POR, including leading preparation for/participation in monthly reviews and annual budget meetings and planning cycle requests, as necessary. Employing strict cost control measures and holding departments responsible for budget management and execution.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial documents, safeguarding division assets, continuous monitoring of internal control systems, adherence to Emerson Corporate Policies and Procedures as well as Automation Solutions and other expected standards.

  • Review reconciliations and HFM reporting.

  • Implement and ensure internal controls and Emerson policies and procedures across the organization.

  • Provide directions and oversight over inventory/costing by establishing procedures over inventory transactions, standard costs, physical inventory/cycle counting program, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.

  • Maintain and supervise all aspects of the manufacturing cost system.

  • Routinely connect with management about financial issues / concerns and operating performance vs. objectives.

  • Evaluate capital and factory optimization projects, including analysis of capital appropriation requests to ensure the expenditure supports business unit goals.

  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate methods and techniques for financial evaluation of projects and be eager to accept stretch assignments and ad hoc projects, as needed.

  • Actively engage in trade working capital plans, day to day management, and provide recommendations for improvement and/or risk mitigation.

  • Offer leadership within the plant’s management team and World Area structure. Advise plant management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.

  • Encourage an atmosphere of collaboration, safety, creativity, trust and respect. Build and maintain positive working relationships across finance and other functional areas to enhance organizational effectiveness.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting and/or Finance

  • 8 years combined experience in manufacturing and cost accounting

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting systems, inventory control systems, and experience managing accounting procedures and controls

  • Skills in handling financial presentations and presenting to management personnel on all levels.

  • Strong digital literacy including experience with a major ERP such as Oracle/SAP, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Master’s degree

  • Supervisory experience
