Job Summary:

The Team Member Welfare & Technical Assistance Team Lead will assist the Supervisor of the Welfare & Technical Assistance on the medical requirement of the crew member and ensuring that services on medical care is provided to the crew member while processing for their assignments, visa, and other needed documents before embarking. Primary Duties will include but is not limited to: Ship/Port Care that includes Institute & maintains an ongoing contact with the on-board medical team to develop professional working rapport. The role also acts as a liaison between the on-board medical team and shoreside medical providers to facilitate medical appointments, assist with retrieval of medical reports, and assist with communication between the specialist physicians & Shipboard physician. The role is in charge of all necessary arrangements for repatriation of all crew members in need of medical care, as well as the repatriation remains of expired crew

Essential functions:

  • Responsible in making sure that the seafarers medical process are in accordance with the CCL’s guidelines and approval.

  • Coordinates with Team Member Welfare and Technical Assistance Supervisor, Account Manager Onboard and approved medical facilities regarding the documents needed for the delivery of medical files.

  • Responsible for handling and distribution of PEME documentations. Coordinates with seafarers for the status of their PEME requirements and communicates with the designated PEME clinic for necessary information with regards to seafarers PEME

  • Gets timely updates from CCL’s medical department regarding PEME guidelines and requirements

  • Answers internal and external communications for CCL’s medical team related concerns.

  • Refers the sick repatriated seafarers to our accredited clinic for further evaluation. Prepares hospitalization and/or referral to designated physician upon arrival of the repatriated seafarers. Prepare Medical. Updates to CCL’s Medical and Legal Department about the diagnosis and recommendation received until the seafarer is declared fit for duty and/or disability. Attend to and monitor medical cases that turned into legal cases.

  • Prepare reports, monitor, filing and documentation for SSS sickness and or death benefits claims applications

  • Audit reimbursement approval of Medical Repatriates transportation, medicines and accommodation (if applicable)

  • In charge of sending medical referrals of joining team members

  • Other Adhoc duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required with Medical Degree

  • Licensed Nurse preferred

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manning industry or related field industry (Hospitality, Leisure and the like)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suites (Word, Excel, Access, In-house and Outsourced Apps)

  • With a background working in a manning agency or in a travel company

  • Knowledgeable of immigration and visa requirements related to seafarers in various geographical areas.
